Capability is scored for both standards from the same design research, re-weighted. The money is not: a coastal refit has to be costed on its own, which is why it can read “not analysed” above while the score beside it is real.
Assistant's read — an opinion, not a source
- KI remains the strongest monohull candidate in the fleet for the actual Pacific crossing: conservative ratios, encapsulated ballast, skeg-hung rudder, cutter rig, post-1992 vinylester hull, molded non-skid instead of the model's usual teak deck, and a unusually complete 2021-22 cruising refit.
- The main revisions from the prior payload are: the draft gate is re-confirmed at 5ft 10in; the listing now directly supports a high-capacity belt on the 160A alternator, a vented propane locker and remote stove shutoff, and fuel tanks having been polished/cleaned; the current tank itemisation is 94gal fuel and 120gal water despite model/spec fields of 120gal and 150gal; conditional generic-gear zeroes for the autopilot, AIS, VHF handheld, NMEA backbone, Starlink Mini, solar controllers and emergency-steering package have been removed where the listing does not prove a serviceable catalogue-equivalent item.
- The previous cost line for delivery from Long Beach has been moved out of costItems into seakeeping.delivery to avoid double-counting, but it is still costed.

Worst case, every line landing in full: $124,628. Planning figure is the likely cost above; this is the tail, not the expectation.
Resale
The gross figure flatters: Australian duty and GST fall due on sale, and brokerage is charged on the sale price.

Where to open
Asking price less $62,355 — the negotiable share of $76,900 in disclosed and suspected defects plus $27,025 of weighted risk. Offshore upgrades are excluded on purpose: a watermaker and a liferaft are your ambition, not the seller's problem, and the next buyer wanting a Bay daysailer would pay near the ask.

Schedule
A boat that cannot be ready is not cheaper, it is a year late.
How much of this is actually known
A boat priced from guesses is a different risk from one priced from quotes, at the same total.
